River safaris down the Tornionjoki river on the Kuohu raftTornionjoki river is the biggest free-flowing river in Europe in which whitefish and salmon spawn. The Kuohu raft - is wooden-decked raft reminiscent of the traditional timber logging rafts. The raft is large enough to hold twelve passengers - even through whitewater rapids. After braving the wild waters of the Kukkola Rapids on a 12-person raft, the safari continues along calmer parts of the Tornionjoki river to the town centre of Tornio. The safari lasts three hours and includes food eaten on board. Traditional salmon soup is prepared and served during the trip.
